FOX FALL XC CLASSIC

Open Season!
Fox trot. Some like it hot. Rabbit on the run. Plenty of sun. You thought this was a fall race? Well, it is! Didn’t you see the apples and apple juice and pumpkin chocolate chip loaf sitting by the finish line?
Oh, you mean the temperature of the air. Well, it was a fox race. Chances are it was bound to be hotter than cooler. This race previously named Psippi’s XC (but since I could not say it, I could not really direct that race) is now Fox Fall XC Classic. Classic? Yeah, that just makes it sound good. Say it with me, “Cla-s-s-ic.”
A notoriously confusing course was branded well marked and nobody in yellow got lost!

Don't Forget My Name!

"Why Yes, I am a Fox."

"Name's Tim." "Yep, I see."

Some Foxes Got Lonely

Grapes?

Uber-Fox-y

I am not too serious. Yes I am.

I am going to win!

I am going to fly!

I am going to get that finish!

Desa for the win!

I want my bagel!
We determined the course was 4.86 miles. Sounds like a reason to have a bagel!

Now! Bagel, now!

Are you hot? I am hot.

So hot!

I feel fine. This is no problem.

I just do as I am told.

Are we done yet?

No seriously? Are we done?

Cheering fans.

Sneaky Fok?

No, sneaky fox!
Congratulations to all the winners!

Mmmmmmmm. Winners.

See you next year!

Can I have one of those yellow shirts?

Fox Fall XC, the most fun race of the season. Sunny & cool enough, good footing, no dust. Perfectly marked course. Large loop, small loop, large, & then small, 4 times around Lake Los Carneros. Apparently 4.86 miles. I liked the home-made pumpkin bread as a reward for good running. Thanks, Drea.

Why Thankyou! I had fun as well! I love any excuse to leave the pavement behind. It was a really fun morning!

Very classy, Drea. I am sorry to say I did catch up with Betsy and reluctantly handed over the (baked) goods. She and Brizzle were running Kim’s tempo with her after the race (somehow I blessedly escaped that assignment) and I even ran a quarter mile at their pace to catch her!
The course was well marked, the atmosphere was appropriately low-key, and it was just a heck of a lot of fun. You give good race!

It was a fun run even I don’t like to run on dirt. Jim K said dirt is your friend but I think it isn’t for me. But I have so much fun out of the race and got a loaf of yummy pumpkin bread. Run, Friend and pumpkin bread equal priceless. I did finished 1st overall on cancer run and I love my pavement.

Hm, well I got a pumpkin loaf too, baked by a girlfriend for my ride to SF,but I sat on it in the car and squished it into oblivion.Fox looks so fun….want to run it next year if I’m not busy doing it like a girl

I am so glad that everyone had so much fun. I took on this race because otherwise it was not going to happen this year and I just love having local cross country runs. I think this event is special because it is so low key, a very beautiful course, and something you run just because you love to run.

Yeah, yeah…great race blahblahblah…here’s how to make it better!
Ok, each year name it after a different animal like the Chinese New Year. This year was the fox but next year, I nominate the duck! Especially if you are over 6 feet tall. And the theme of the race should be Dodge, Dip, Duck, Dive, and Dodge.
The names of the the people that were wearing the yellow shirts were not very funny. You can do better.
Also it was too humid and sometimes the sun got in my eyes.

Hmmmm, well you can be in yellow and if the theme is DUCK. You can be named “Rubber,” or “Peking”, or “Open Season,” or “Bill,” wait a minute, wait a minute….didn’t Disney already do that movie. It was about kid’s hockey. You could go even less original and just be “Donald.”
Daisy, Daffy, Hewie, Dewie, & Louie.
xo, Fox
