5 Mile Exciting cross country race around Lake Los Carneros.  No hills, but plenty of attention-worthy footing.  This is the SBAA’s sole true cross country race!

GP EVENT

$10 entry fee.  To which you reply, “Ten bucks? Aw shucks, I’m in!”

“Um, I like quiet afternoons and candle light dinners on the beach…”  No, no, it is just race information to make it all more smooth and accurate, I promise!

DIRECTIONS TO RACE START:

101 North.  Exit Los Carneros and head toward mountains.  Turn Right onto Covington Way.  Lake Los Carneros will be on the right.  Enter the park at the trailhead and registration is just a few meters down the path.

Don’t worry, I’m not trying to get you LOST….and this year you get to follow 4 yellow pace rabbits!  No excuses Alice!

Club West Run for Life Kid’s Mile.  Finisher ribbons for all and entry is free.  Thank you Kevin Young!

  1. well marked and monitored course. probably first time in four tries that i ran the correct course (i need help thinking during the last part of a race). as my wife approached the intersection being monitored by two young boys another runner was approaching from a different direction. she could see the confusion in their expressions – for whom do we point? in desperation and simultaneously they both crossed their arms in front of themselves and pointed in two different directions. “priceless” as my wife said. 🙂

  2. My first time running this XC Classic. Course markings worked perfect for me. Footing was very good three days after the rain. Achieved goal of running sub 8 minute per mile pace. Thanks for a very fun event.
